Problems with joomla! 3.9.6 + K2 2.9.0 + PHP 7.2 4 years 10 months ago #9842

Hello,

I updated a joomla site! from 2.5 to 3.9.6.
I state that I am still in the TEST phase on a development area and not on the production site.

I'm having some problems with the free "JO K2 Slideshow" extension.
I'm using K2 2.9.0
while the PHP version is 7.2.18

When I try to enter the module configuration, in the Back-end the module, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'JElement' /modules/mod_lofk2slideshow/libs/elements/categoriesmultiple.php on line 27

While in the front-end when the module is active this error appears:
Call to undefined method JModel::addIncludePath()

If I try to set PHP 5.6.40 the error that appears in the back-end when I try to enter the module configuration is slightly different:
Fatal error: Class 'JElement' not found in /modules/mod_lofk2slideshow/libs/elements/categoriesmultiple.php on line 28

While in the home the error message becomes:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method JModel::addIncludePath() in /modules/mod_lofk2slideshow/helper.php on line 15

There is probably some problem with the version of Joomla! 3.9.x or K2 2.90 and probably also with the latest versions of PHP.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Thank you,
I have seen that in the forum there are several other messages regarding the problems of compatibility with this component ...
And I wouldn't want a "solution" found now to cause problems with the next update ... so it will look for an alternative extension with the same functions.

Anyway thanks for the reply.
