I understand what you are saying.
Many Joomla Extension are low on updating ever since WP took the mainstream.
Yet Bach Pham is quick we responding and does update the extensions regularly.

FaceBook has been quite difficult with making it more difficult with events. They don't even display them properly anymore on mobiles with their tabs. So I agree with what you say here.

After you renew again extension you can download version fixed problem and install it and you can do it and not need we login. If have problem i will fixed it

We need update alway module becuase Facebook change version API. and Facebook access token will change in 6 month because this it is security for your Facebook account.

Current relase php 8 and we have updated module and you can download and updated it in your site and using it. But you need renew it because in license you buy you only buy stadard subscription it not support free update new version. you need fee because we need update module and fixed if module have problem in your site. i think 12$ for fee is not problem for support and install and check and update
